Charvak Resort

Charvak Resort in Bostanlyk: a mountain resort of over 50,000 m² with curved terraced blocks, a spa and a pool overlooking the reservoir. A SAD project, 2021.

Water and terrain

Between the building and the shore runs a cascade of pools that follows the fall of the terrain. This is not decoration: the platforms for the pools are formed by the excavation for the building, and the spoil is not carted away but shaped into the beach terraces.

Shared spaces

The lobby, the lift halls and the spa are set on one axis and open to the water at every bay. The curved plan is not form for its own sake: it turns the corridors towards the lake, so that even the utilitarian walk from lift to room has a view rather than a blank wall.
