Elevated Metro
Elevated metro station in Tashkent: 12,000 m², a platform under a long translucent vault and a round vestibule. Concept by SAD studio, 2017.
The most visited building in the district
An elevated metro station of 12,000 m². More people pass through a point like this in a day than through any building nearby, so the look of the station shapes how the district is read. The platform is covered by a long translucent vault: arched ribs carry the glazing, daylight comes from above, and under the canopy the passenger is sheltered from both sun and rain.

A form tied to its place
The station stands opposite the Compass shopping centre and answers its neighbour: a dynamic vault instead of a blind box, glass instead of panel. The entrance is an arched portal with pylons carrying the metro sign — it reads from the avenue and works as a landmark. The round vestibule separates the flows before the gates, so passengers reach the platform already sorted.
