Batyr Zakirov Foundation
A cultural and educational centre in Tashkent that brings a school, a recording studio, a concert hall and a museum into one volume. The SAD studio concept received a second-degree diploma from the International Association of Unions of Architects.
Four functions in one volume
The Batyr Zakirov Foundation building gathers an educational institution, a recording studio, a concert hall and a museum in one space. Its cultural purpose is read through Uzbek national motifs taken in white: the ornament comes fully into its own on a sunny day, when the shadows of the perforation fall across the facade and the building turns into an art object. The project received a second-degree diploma from the International Association of Unions of Architects.

An architectural element as a flowing song
Batyr Zakirov inspired the Uzbek people with his art, so the main architectural element of the building stands for a flowing song: the ribbon is thrown across the whole volume and runs from the entrance to the roof. Its star perforation gives the pale facade a memorable play of shadows that changes through the day — the facade is not static, it works together with the sun.

The Uzbek courtyard as the basis of the plan
One of the founding decisions of the project is an Uzbek courtyard with domes, columns and a small water basin. It is not a decorative insert but a place where students rest between classes and catch inspiration. This landscape turns the building into a magnet for creative young people, photographers and the cultural life of the city, not just an academic block.
