SORA Restaurant, Dubai
Materials and setting
A material is chosen for how it behaves ten years into this climate, not for how it looks in a render.
Stone, timber, glass and metal are gathered into one set that ages evenly.

About the project
The work starts with the site and how it is used: where the sun comes from, where people arrive, what is visible from each side.
The plan grows out of those answers rather than out of a scheme prepared in advance.

A project outlives its construction, and is judged by what it turns out to be ten years on.
So decisions are tested against service life rather than against the presentation.
How the materials behave, what upkeep costs, what still holds once the site around it is built up.
