Ogni Tashkenta
A restaurant in central Tashkent where Soviet retro meets contemporary detailing. Arched openings link the rooms so they flow into one another. Interior design by SAD studio.
A time machine to the Soviet era
For a restaurant to work, the whole chain has to be thought through and connected: target audience — location — cuisine — pricing — interior design — name — graphics. The client chose a site in the central part of the city, among historic buildings, so the place had to carry cultural value. Together with the client we chose a Soviet retro concept and took it down to the details — from panels and typefaces to furniture and tableware.

The plan: halls through arches
The strength of the project is its plan. All the halls are linked to each other through arched openings: this visually enlarges the space and opens up a philosophy of openness. High ceilings add a certain grandeur to the interior without making it cold — the warm wall colour, the herringbone parquet and closely set upholstered furniture do the work.
